Parenting The Children of Light

One of the most delightful consequences of being a wedding officiant and couples counselor is watching the ever-expanding community of newly married couples becoming joy-filled parents. SO MANY BABIES are arriving, and nothing brings me more joy than to witness this new chapter in the lives of those whom I have helped get married. My life purpose is to serve and support conscious love in our world, and there is no place more important to facilitate that endeavor than with couples wanting to stay fulfilled in their marriages AND who are taking the step into sharing their love with their new children. I have also been aware for over thirty years that the children who are arriving in our world are coming in with a whole new level of presence, light, self awareness and even extra sensory abilities. These are the beings that I have prepared my whole life to not only welcome and bless but to help grow into their full purpose and potential.

Last year I had the incredible experience of meeting my new grand nephew after having officiating for my beloved nephew and his wife the year before. During our Christmas visit I was overwhelmed with a knowing that I was indeed meeting one of these children of light and our connection inspired the writing of a book called The Star Girl Story. It is a biography of my spiritual journey and memories of having come to earth to bring Love to our world and the unfolding of my mission to serve the wave of children who are now arriving with the same calling. The sweetest part of this mission is getting to give my new little friends the gift of a very special teddy bear, called a Star Bear. So what is your mission, dear parents? It is enough to just figure out the immense needs of caring for a newborn and toddler as they wiggle, crawl and walk into their life path. Taking care of your selves and nurturing your marriage become very part-time and occasional opportunities as you put your hearts and souls into the twenty-four-seven demands of parenting.

What if it could be different? What if you could actually sustain your own well-being and your connection with each other even as you are changing diapers, doing feedings and managing the rest of life’s demands? And what if you could tune into your Little One on such an intuitive level that you could sense their needs even before they have the words to tell you?

Here is the one essential and primary thing I would offer you. The one thing your child wants and needs more than anything else is to feel you present and connected to your heart and soul, fully embodied and also present and soulfully connected to each other. This is what not only gives them the greatest sense of security and safety but transmits to them how to fully integrate their own essence into their brand new body. That might seem like a totally unrealistic ideal yet it is actually very possible and do-able. Especially if you start practicing before your baby arrives. Once you learn the simple self awareness, presence and connection practices individually and in your partnership, it will naturally be there when it is time to hold your precious babe. And if your little one has already arrived, there are always tiny little mini breaks, nap time, nursing time, when one of you takes charge and the other gets a few moments to rest and to deeply restore so you can continue with a full well instead of depletion.
