Dreams Really Do Come True

Golden Wedding Wishes Came True today for Matt and Yaqian and their Golden Doodle, Fur Child May at the Ever So Lovely Manor House at Pleasant Beach on Bainbridge Island.

A few years ago a girl who had already traveled from China to the east coast of the U.S. dreamt of new beginning. She wanted a love story worth risking the unknown and a trip across a mountain range,  and lots of adventures so she packed herself and her Golden Doodle up in their car and set off for the wild west coast of Washington.

Little did she know that a boy who also came from China was living in Washington, dreaming hoping, praying and waiting to find his Beloved and to start a family of his own.

By date number two, Matt and Yaqian knew that destiny had brought them together on a sweet little isle in the Salish Sea called Bainbridge Island.

Matt agreed to be May’s dog dad even before proposing to Yaqian so their little family was already started as they walked down the aisle on their wedding day at the lovely Manor House on their lucky Bainbridge Island.

May the Golden Doodle was a bridesmaid, tiny ring bearers and flower girls stole the show and charmed the hearts of the guests and we were all crying, cheering and laughing before we hardly started the ceremony.

Our groom happens to be a certified yoga instructor so his teacher and whole yoga community were there. What a joy for me to get to guide this group through my signature Moment of Presence.  A preach to my own choir fulfillment as a forty year seasoned yoga teacher and ceremony guide.  They even chimed in with Namaste as we completed our mini meditation.

Our bride’s mother traveled all the way from China to be at her daughter’s wedding. A friend translated as we moved through the ceremony and when I thanked her for coming she stood up and received the sweetest rush of clapping!  We welcomed Yaqian’s Angel Dad and magically a butterfly arrived and rested on one of the groomsmen’s shoulder for the whole ceremony.

And then came the vows!!! Our groom’s hands were shaking so much and his voice was filled with tears as he recounted his childhood game of creating a virtual family in an  online App. His sister who was his Best Person and greatest champion, would comfort him as the years passed by and his dream had not been fulfilled. She had always told him to trust his heart and that his Love would surely come one day!

What an incredible moment for him to stand there with his sister by his side, his parents beaming and his whole community sobbing in happiness for him.

Our bride told her brave adventure story of coming across the world and the country to find him. And even though they have a pact to not say “I promise” to each other as Yaqian wants the promises to be expressed through actions, there she stood and declared not just one promise but a whole list of them because she wanted to be brave on her wedding day and show her Beloved just how much she is willing to stretch and do hard things in the name of committing to their marriage.

Of course there was a poem about love and dogs all while May laid at the altar peacefully basking in the sunlight.

Finally I declared Matt a husband and Yaqian a wife and all three of them a married family!  Kisses and cheers and even more tears! Their license was signed to make it all legal and the celebration continued with the amazing team of vendors led by Hannah and Grace of Emerald Engagements and the always excellent Manor House team guiding the happy couple and their community through the evening.

Weddings come and weddings go.  Getting to serve, bless and support two people who dreamed each other into being is the fulfillment of my deepest prayers.  Love is life’s greatest treasure. Having Matt, Yaqian and May be living proof that it is worth waiting for and now lighting up our world with their gentle spirits and love filled hearts is a blessing for all of us.

Go Well, Dear Husband and Wife, Dog Parents and Adorable Doodle May into your Happily Ever After and thank you for the honor of helping you get married today!
